Advocacy has long been a core part of our organization’s identity. We believe Muslim students have the right to a safe and enriching university experience, free from discrimination, harassment, suppression, and undue burden.
From our COVID Rent Relief campaign to supporting student organizers on the ground, Manara West has always stood shoulder to shoulder with our students. Alongside our advocacy efforts, our programming is dedicated to providing Muslim students with the best services and resources for their socio-emotional well-being. Whether connecting students across campuses, equipping them to stand against hate and suppression, or uplifting them with enriching resources, Manara West is there for our students every step of the way.

Driving Impact Through Purpose-Driven Initiatives
COVID Rent Relief
Manara West fundraised and disbursed over $50,000 to support students in dire financial need after the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to abruptly leave campus. Over the course of 4 months, we supported over 35 students across the state who lost their jobs, faced housing insecurity, and struggled with financial instability to gain temporary stability
Emergency Student Support
During periods of heightened student organizing movements, Manara West fundraised and dispersed over $100,000 in mutual aid funds for student organizers and provided urgent resources such as around the clock rapid response staffing, logistical support, and security.
